Summer Palace
Beautiful weather. Smog levels in Beijing have been very acceptable so far.Traveling with the subway is like in Singapore. It’s very convenient and fast and clean.Today we visited the Summer palace. One of the many Unesco sites in Beijing. It is on the outskirts of Beijing next to a beautiful lake. It is so big that we only had time to visit the lake, part of the gardens and the tower of Buddhist incense. It is built on top of longevity hill. We had to climb quite a few stairs to get to the tower.I guess it has been named longevity hill because climbing such stairs might increase your life expectancy. One of the last great emperors in China, named Qianlong lived from 1711 to 1799. Could it have worked for him?
